Fr. Steve seeks new Ministry Head for St. Mark Parish
St. Mark Respect Life is in need of a new volunteer to be its Coordinator. Paul Primavera, Coordinator for St. Therese’s pro-life committee, has graciously stepped into this vacant spot temporarily to keep St. Mark Respect Life up and going until a St. Mark parishioner steps forward to take over this very important work. If you have been a part of St. Mark Respect Life, or another such group at your previous parish, or if you have a passion and a true desire to work for those most in need in our society, you are invited to prayerfully consider giving of your time and talent to help St. Mark continue its pro-life activities.
Briefly, this is what you might expect to work on—and you are invited to bring other ideas to the table for discussion with Fr. Steve and Paul.
A parish pro-life committee assists in a special way by helping to make the parish a center of life, a place where parishioners understand the issues and the importance of meeting the needs of those who are most vulnerable—especially mothers and their unborn children, those who are seriously ill or dying, and their families.
Objectives of a parish pro-life committee are to:
Coordinate parish implementation of the annual Respect Life Program
Encourage and support parishioners’ involvement in services to help those who are chronically ill, disabled, or dying-and their families
Sponsor programs of prayer in the parish to pray for mothers and their unborn children, for those who are dying, for those who are disabled, for prisoners on death row and those they have harmed, and indeed for all who are in need, that the culture of death that surrounds us may be replaced by a culture of life.
Keep parishioners informed of upcoming important legislation; and, at the direction of the diocesan pro-life director, organize letter-writing, postcard campaigns, or similar appropriate activities when important votes are expected.
If the Holy Spirit is guiding you to make a commitment to work within our parish in this capacity, please contact Paul Primavera (910) 508-0481 and/or Vikki Lyons (910) 392-0720, ext. 221 to discuss your possible transition into this vacant volunteer position.

SOUND TECHNICIANS NEEDED
We really need help running our sound system at all Masses. It’s not too complicated and we will train you. All it takes is a willing spirit and a good pair of ears to help our Masses run smoothly and help everyone hear. If you are interested please call Fran or Steve Tabor at 395-5002. |
St. Mark needs ALL of Us . . .
We all call St. Mark our church home, and our home needs all of us to keep it running smoothly. Thank you to all who have come forward to volunteer in many positions. We appreciate your time and talent.
We can ALWAYS use more volunteers in the offices and among the many ministries here. If you are looking for a place to give of your time once in a while or on a recurring basis, please call the office: (910) 392-0720, ext. 249.

CAMILLUS MINISTRY
Our Camillus members take the Eucharist to our parishioners who are in nursing/care facilities, homebound, sick and shut-in. In addition to the blessing of the Eucharist, team members bring comfort, kind words, prayers and love to those who need it most.
There will be a Camillus meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd at 10:00 AM in classroom #3 in the church education wing. If you would like to learn more about this ministry, please attend.

The St. Mark Music Ministry Needs You!
All choirs (the Chancel Choir formerly known as the Adult Choir, the Contemporary Choir, and the Children’s Choir) are in need of additional singers and now is the time for candidates to step up and become a part of these ministries! To be a member of one of these groups you only need to see either Fran or Steve Tabor after any one of the Masses and express your interest in joining. Steve/Fran will conduct an informal, stress-free audition with you (five minutes max). You do not need to be able to read music to join! Make the effort and become a part of these important ministries. We look forward to working with you!

Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers Needed
Over the past year there has been a loss of wonderful people who have moved away, changed jobs—or work hours. These people are no longer available to help at Daily Mass. We are very much in need of Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and Lectors for the 8:00AM daily Mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
392-0720, ext. 221. If you leave your name and phone number, as well as the day you would like to serve, you will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator. Please prayerfully consider this call to service.
